New Zealand Tourism Award Winner 2007 – Leisure Activity

We were delighted to receive the New Zealand Tourism Award for best Leisure Activity in September 2007. A New Zealand Tourism Award is the most prestigious award possible within the New Zealand tourism industry.  The awards recognise New Zealand tourism businesses that are truly world class.  The New Zealand Tourism Industry Association has commented that this year the quality of the entries was the highest yet and choosing the best of the best was a serious challenge.

 

SKOANZ – Sea Kayak Operators Association of New Zealand

We are founding members of Sea Kayak Operators Association of New Zealand (SKOANZ) .  SKOANZ is the only recognised national industry organisation representing commercial sea kayaking operations.  As a full member of SKOANZ we operate under a strict code of practice that has been adopted by all quality sea kayaking companies in New Zealand.

 

Qualmark – Endorsed Visitor Activity

Qualmark was initially created as a quality standard for the accommodation sector.  Most would be familiar with the star rating system used to identify the various standards of accommodation throughout New Zealand.  Qualmark’s quality tourism standard has now been applied to the adventure tourism sector - however there is no star rating system associated with this award for our sector.  We are the only adventure tourism business in Marlborough to be endorsed by Qualmark for all three activities.
